SO, COME
we forever were changed
in this room where I have been living
and in these years it’s been dangerous
but I cannot help from receiving
all the Spirits here they all say:
“for now you must suffer so that we may live”
all the Saints come down
I wish they would now
thought in time it has changed us all
the room itself, it is breathing
we forever are chained
in what we have done, we have won
we have given to the spirits here,
who still call upon me,
say “suffer so that we may live”
So, come
take back the old way
take what’s not right
take back the unborn child
take it back
I love the light and shade between Bryan's dirty and Emma's forlorn vocals. There are so many layers to this recording that are driven home through contrast. Plus the riffs are brilliant and get me moving. I can't stop listening to Thou and Emma in general lately. spaceman2250
Singer/songwriter from Los Angeles, Chelsea Wolfe’s plaintive voice is the centerpiece of all of these chillingly bleak tunes. Watery, sliding orchestration suits the misty and dark environment that she evokes throughout. Unflinchingly stark, the recording suitably ends with a storm. Nickie Harte Kelly
The Oakland singer's latest album imagines the power struggle between man and nature as a slow, steady tempest of dark folk. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 20, 2019
